Specific Regulatory/Standard/Industry Respirator Requirements
For certain contaminants/hazards there may be specific regulatory/standard/industry requirements/recommendations for respiratory protective devices (RPD). These requirements/recommendations should be followed as legally required or deemed best practice.
The hazards listed in the tool Step 3.5 include the below which reference where these requirements/recommendations come from.
If a specific regulatory/industry hazard is not listed, it can be manually entered. Another specific regulatory/industry hazard can be added to the Respirator Selector tool by contacting RESP-FIT respfit@aioh.org.au.
If a workplace is not sure if there are specific regulatory/industry that applies to them. Further investigation is required. Speak with your WHS regulator and/or industry/trade association for guidance. In the tool, this step can be updated after completing/saving the form.
