ISO RPD Special Application Classes

In SA/SNZ TS ISO 16975.1, RPD for special applications are classified by the unique hazards in which they are used and for which additional performance requirements have been identified. More than one special application may be applicable for the task or environment e.g. structural firefighting concurrent with a CBRN environment.

Special applications have minimum protection class and work rate requirements. Special application escape has minimum protection class at a given flow rate.
