Marine Special Applications
Respiratory Protective Devices (RPD) to be used in the off-shore industry located on-board ships and drilling platforms for respiratory protection during firefighting, hazardous materials and for escape purposes. During storage and use, these devices may be exposed to low frequency vibrations with high impact due to high accelerations and rough sea climate (high humidity with high concentration of salt). Confined spaces and oxygen deficiency are likely to be encountered. The donning time and the easy access to the RPD are important. RPD for Marine are designated by MA followed by the numeric designation for the specific Marine application. These specific applications are: Firefighting and Hazardous materials.
